Down by Love is, in the widest sense, a classical gangster film. The way it is told can certainly be seen as a deep bow to Quentin Tarantino. The chronology and the inventive representation make the love story between gangster Martin and the Russian Irina into something very special.

Digna van der Put (1980) is an independent filmmaker, with her studio based in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). Her career started as an art teacher. After a couple of years of teaching she decides to specialize in animation. Now she works as an animator on commissioned work, and realizes her own projects.

Cyprien Clément-Delmas (*1986 in Paris) works as photographer and filmmaker. He studied at film school ESCAC in Barcelona. Now he lives and works in Paris. As a director and filmmaker he did several short films, music videos and documentaries.

Dina Velikovskaya (*1984 Moscow) graduated from State Art School n. a. Memory of 1905 with a specialization in scenic design in 2005. In 2011 she graduated from Russian State University of Cinematography n. a. S. A. Gerasimov (VGIK) and in 2015 she graduated from High Animation School-Studio “SHAR” (Moscow). Since 2015 she works at the Russian animation Studio ”Pchela”. During and after her studies she realized some films that won a lot of awards all over the world.

Francois Leroy studied animation and Stephanie Lansaque has worked as an art director for magazine and edition. In 2002, they traveled to Asia for the first time. Inspired by that, they made three films until 2012, which are all located in Vietnam or Hongkong, respectively. “Cafe Froid” is their fourth short film. Between two personal projects, they work as technicians and directors for the company “Je Suis Bien Content" on TV series, video clip, feature films.

Kris Genijn or iZeMo (1977) is an award-winning Belgian director. He finished his studies at RITS in Brussels with his shortfilm Dick Head. He directed several music videos and commercials, as well as small artistic films for F.A.M. in Germany and NIAF in the Netherlands. In 2013, History of Pets was completed; a black-humoured requiem for childhood pets who died in mysterious circumstances, produced by NIAF. It was selected at over 50 international festivals. Pieter Vanluffelen (*1978, Belgium), studied animation at the Rits school for audiovisual and performing arts. In 2000 he graduated with the film "Survival of the Fattest". Since then Pieter worked as an animator on various tv-series, short films and feature films. In 2007 he made "With my Quantum Stroke" for the short film compilation Dicht/Vorm (S.O.I.L.). With "He & Sea" he had his second experience as director. Pieter is currently working on the development his third film "The unknown Soldier".

Kris Borghs (*1983, Belgium) studied animation at the Media & Design Academy in Genk. His film My World as an Animator was selected for several festivals and won the Best Animation Spot PISAF in South Korea and 1st Award at the One Minutes Festival in Ghent. As a 3D character animator, he contributed to several international TV-series, feature films and commercials. Kris is currently developing concepts for both a computer game and another short.

Veljko Popovic (1979) graduated in 2003 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Department of Painting. In 1998 he starts working with computer graphics and co-founded Lemonade3D, a studio for CG and animation. He is the head of the Film and Video Department and teaches computer animation at the Arts Academy in Split.
