With five award winners and a closing party, the 19th Provinziale came to an end on October 15, 2022 at Eberswalde’s Haus Schwärzetal. These are our prize winners:
“THE PRICKLE” special award
The jury prize “THE PRICKLE / DER STACHEL” for the most successful examination of the sustainability theme went to Carné-e-s by Léo Deschénes (France)

In the competition of short documentaries (under 45 min) Fati’s Choice by Fatimah Mustapha Dadzie (Ghana, South Africa) won the audience award donated by the city of Eberswalde.

Jury Award documentary film
Among the nine long documentaries screened in competition, Toiveiden koulu (School of Hope) by Mohamed El Aboudi (Finland, France, Morocco) won the award donated by the Brandenburg Ministry of Economy, Labor and Energy.

As a film festival team, we look back on a successful week. 15 filmmakers from the USA, Spain, France, Russia, Italy, Switzerland and Germany and Germany presented their films in Eberswalde and got into conversation with the audience. Most stayed several days and enjoyed experiencing the city of Eberswalde and its beautiful surroundings. In a time marked by conflicts, war and fears, we enjoyed the excellent films as well as the meeting of the people, their empathy and mutual attention.
We thank Carsten Wegener, Marie-Elsa Drelon and many other musicians for the musical accompaniment of the program.
With about 1,500 visitors, we were again able to reach a larger audience compared to the last two years, so that the possibility of following up next year on the response before the Corona restrictions is tangible.
We would like to thank all supporters, partners, sponsors, patrons and our guests for their trust and for the festival week we created together.
