Day 1 of the 21th PROVINZIALE
Yesterday we celebrated the opening of the 21st Provinziale Haus Schwärzetal, which has been transformed into a very special film palace for this week, to the friendly sounds of Holly Schlott and Bernsteinzimmer. Director Aliona van der Horst presented her film GERLACH and, after a long round of applause, engaged in an intensive exchange with many guests. This was followed by the opening films of the short documentary film, animated film and short fiction film competitions. Two films with similar themes, GO WEST and I’M FINE, BUT, dealt with Germany as a host country for people from the global South in different genres. The director of the last film, Marc Sebastian Eils, came to Eberswalde with cameraman Hannes Schulz for the film discussion.
